In which the beat is interrupted, and Bad Penny shows her colours.
Okay. THIS one is the one I’m really displeased with. I’ve enjoyed Archie comics since I was a kid, but for a long, long time now, I’ve felt the art (well, okay – the writing, occasionally, too) was just hack work, and could be so much better. “Come on,” I’d say, “ANYONE can draw Archies!” As I’ve shown here, that’s not really true…
One noteworthy exception is the brilliant work done by Giselle Lagace on Archie 635 & 636. THAT’S how Archies should be drawn.
And no, none of my three basses is a blonde Rickenbacker 4003, but I hope #4 will be!
Only one nitpick as a drummer; the snare usually goes right between the bass drum and the drummer’s knees.
Besides that, it looks pretty good!
Also, I never had seen those episodes of archie, which are quite well done, as you’ve already pointed out.
Next time I have to draw drums, Bri, I’ll be sure and ping you! Sorry for my novice mistake there 🙂
Hehe, I do like the choice of powerdot/controlled sound heads though 🙂
This strip made me chuckle out loud. I can’t draw worth beandip (at least right now, but it’s on the bucket list I’m drawing up for my Major Upcoming Birthday), but I really enjoy Menage A 3.
Oops. I didn’t read Giselle’s site deeply enough to see the nature of her… other artistic endeavors. 😯 She did brilliant work on the Archies, but I hope she won’t mind I dropped the link to her site so as to keep my family-safe rating.
Id love to Penny in the style of Nemi
