Yay! Someone actually caught the term! It’s funny how in doing this strip, it’s the tiny things like that term from which I seem to get the most satisfaction. As a result, The Tuppence will be with us as a core story thread for sime time… 🙂

My dear old dad (RIP) used to refer to me as tuppence when I was but a toddler.
Almost brought a tear to me eye, it did.
I did appreciate the literal meaning. Very clever.
Pity there’s not a mini-me version of Penny too. Then you could make tuppenny-ha’penny references.
Aaargh! And then the tables turn! No sooner am I patting myself on the back for one catchy pun, than the next one I had planned gets up-staged by a loyal reader! Just goes to keep me humble, right? So… yes, Ha’Penny will be making her debut in the very near future. 🙂 I’ve got the strip written through mid-January, and the Ha’Penny storyline will be central to some major changes in the strip’s direction. (Note: any indignation on my part is of the mock variety. ;))

Still, I know exactly how frustrating that feels, I have weeks of scripts written for my own seemingly-forever-on-hiatus-strip, several of which I had to rewrite because other strips made the joke about a fortnight after I wrote it. :/
So.. my apologies, and empathy!
No worries! In re-reading my earlier reply, I came off way too harsh… Actually, I don’t find it too frustrating – I think one of the cool things is that all you lads and lassies are so often ahead of me on this stuff. Keeps me on my toes, and actually kinda serves as a validation when you think the same way I do. (BTW, I just rendered the first appearance strip of the mini-Penny last night. I’ll be sure and dedicate that strip to you :))
