You are correct – servers generally don’t ever get shut down, save for maintenance or troubleshooting. They are basically computers that run essential applications, websites, services, etc., to “serve” the needs of users or other computers. As such, they need to be available, as you say, at all times. Apologies for the occasional “uber-geeky” strip – comes with the territory, I suppose 😀

Ah, this new boss makes me think of our new Mayor who’s going on a mad dog firing spree with his first week in office.
Even that aside, I just “love” dealing with people who ignore reason and want to do everything their way (often convoluted) because they came up with the idea and won’t do what’s practical.
I’m guessing the customers need to be able to use the servers at all times.
